Almost 6 Month Update

Ella is continuing to grow and change so much everyday. A week will go by and I will realize just how different she is from the week prior. She is turning into a little person who is not afraid to explore her world or tell you how she feels about something. She's making all kinds of sounds now ... goo, ma, ba, ahh. Before we know it, a word is going to come out!

She's flipping over both ways very easily now and always seems to want to be on her stomach. Once she gets on her stomach, she can't stay in one spot - she's spinning and scooting all over. She also does this funny little head dip thing where she lifts up her arms and legs (like a pilates swimming position) and then dips her head up and down. We joke that it's like a little bird drinking water - it crack us up! Other times she's like a little inch worm, scooting her legs up under her with her butt up in the air and then scooting forward. This is her preferred sleeping position - legs tucked under her stomach and butt in the air. So cute!

Ella's eating all kinds of new stuff, as well. We've done all the cereals (who knew there were so many types) and has moved onto vegetables. Next we'll try meats (pureed meats - yuck) and then the best for last ... fruits. She's an awesome eater - no problems whatsoever. Lisa (her daycare provider) commented today that she is such a neat eater, and I would have to agree. Everything goes in and nothing comes out - yay! This will probably last until she is able to get ahold of her food and throw it at us ... oh boy.

We are also blessed to have such a great sleeper. She must know that mom and dad cherish their sleep. She goes to bed around 8 and doesn't usually wake up until we get her up in the morning - 6:30ish. If she cries, it's nothing that a quick pat on the back and pacifier can't fix. She takes two big naps during the day and a couple of 30 minute cat naps in the evening. This girl loves to sleep! Watch out if she doesn't get enough ... yikes.
Another exciting announcement - Ella has her first tooth! Yep, it's sprouting right up on the bottom and you wouldn't even know it unless you happened to have a finger in her mouth. She didn't make a fuss about it at all!

We are getting ready to head to Colorado in a couple of weeks for our annual family ski trip. Ella's first time in the mountains - we can't wait! We'll keep you posted on how the 10 hour road trip goes! Hopefully, she'll be doing this for most of the drive:
